GTA 6 characters: who has been revealed and how they are connected

GTA 6’s protagonists are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar has also introduced Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, musical duo Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. They all have official profiles, but this is not the game’s full cast.

The known GTA 6 characters form several strands that are still largely separate. Jason has a circle in the Keys, Vice City’s music business has its own connections, and Raul brings a thread of high-risk robberies. Both Vice City and the Keys lie in the fictional state of Leonida. Rockstar has not yet shown how all these strands come together in the story.

Jason and Lucia at the centre of the story

After military service, Jason Duval ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners. Fighting for her family landed Lucia Caminos in prison; after her release, she wants to change her life. The game’s official description brings them together: a seemingly straightforward robbery goes wrong, drawing them into a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida. They have to rely on each other.

Players will control both protagonists and switch between them. In an extensive IGN interview, Rob Nelson, one of Rockstar North’s senior developers, explained that the studio settled on two leads to give players time to get to know each. Between missions, players can spend time as Jason or Lucia separately, or with them together. Their relationship changes according to shared activities and some player actions, but the developers have not revealed exactly how this affects the story. Even if the romance develops differently, Nelson says they remain partners in crime.

Jason’s circle in the Keys: Brian and Cal

Brian Heder has long been moving drugs through the Keys. He owns a boat yard and runs the business with his third wife, Lori. Brian lets Jason live rent-free in one of his houses while Jason helps with local intimidation and extortion. Jason has a roof over his head, but works for it.

Cal Hampton is described as Jason’s friend and another associate of Brian’s. Cal prefers staying at home, listening to Coast Guard radio traffic and searching online for support for his anxious theories. Brian knows both men: Jason works for him, while Cal belongs to his circle. But Rockstar has not yet said whether Cal will take part in robberies or how long Jason will remain tied to Brian.

What about Lucia? Rockstar mentions her father, mother and the family’s life in Liberty City, but gives them no separate profiles and does not name other members of her circle. Jason’s associates cannot automatically be labelled her old friends: the pair’s shared history has not been fully revealed.

Vice City’s own circle: Boobie, Dre’Quan and Real Dimez

Another chain begins with Boobie Ike. He turned his street background into a business spanning real estate, a strip club and a studio. Rockstar connects him with Dre’Quan Priest: they are developing the label Only Raw Records. Dre’Quan used to deal on the streets but wanted to enter the music business; he now has his sights on Vice City’s scene.

Dre’Quan signed Real Dimez to Only Raw Records. Two school friends, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, perform under that name. They are turning social media fame into a music career. An early hit with local rapper DWNPLY helped them grow, and their Only Raw Records deal offers a chance to repeat that success. The chain is explicit: Boobie invests in the label, Dre’Quan signs the duo, and the two artists want another hit.

Rockstar’s profile page does not show Boobie, Dre’Quan or Real Dimez meeting Jason and Lucia. They cannot be declared the protagonists’ allies in advance simply because everyone lives in the same state. The music strand does show, however, that GTA 6’s characters exist for more than the pair’s robberies. They have businesses and stakes of their own.

Raul and the robberies: a connection revealed by the interview

Raul Bautista is introduced as an experienced bank robber. He looks for people prepared to take risks for a big payout. Each job increases the danger to his crew: sooner or later, they will have to go further or walk away. His profile does not answer whether he will become Jason and Lucia’s long-term partner, let alone their enemy.

The October 2026 IGN interview supplies a new detail. Both protagonists participate in an example of a Raul mission shown to journalists: Jason shoots, Lucia drives, and control then passes to the player. This is one specific shared scene from a demonstration, not a promise that every mission follows that pattern. One episode cannot establish Raul’s entire storyline or his relationship with the pair after the robbery.

Eight profiles do not mean every character

The numbers are easy to confuse. Rockstar’s page has eight main blocks: Jason, Lucia, Cal, Boobie, Dre’Quan, Real Dimez, Raul and Brian. But Real Dimez consists of Bae-Luxe and Roxy, so eight profiles introduce nine people. A separate block means Rockstar chose to introduce that character; it does not measure their eventual importance to the story.

Other names appear without their own profiles. Lori is named as Brian’s wife, and DWNPLY as the rapper who recorded with Real Dimez. The official Ultimate Edition bonus description mentions Wyman, an eccentric collector and middleman who assigns old-car collection jobs. This confirms a mention of the character in the edition’s additional content, but not his role in the main story. Adding every mentioned name to the nine produces a different count, so one figure cannot answer the question of “all characters”.

Images need even more care. The official screenshot Brian Heder 04 shows a blonde woman beside Brian and a man in a cap who resembles Jason. The profile mentions Lori, but the image does not identify the woman. Calling her Lori simply because she stands next to Brian would be a guess. The image Cal Hampton 04 also shows someone beside Cal without an individual label. Such faces cannot be added to a verified list under invented names.

The official material has not yet revealed many characters’ exact ages, the main antagonist or the pair’s fate. A reference to Vercetti Estate in a bonus weapon description invokes a familiar name, but does not confirm Tommy Vercetti’s appearance in GTA 6. For now, the two groups described in detail each have their own stories. IGN’s interview shows only one episode in which Raul works with Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has not yet revealed who will stay by the pair’s side, who will oppose them or how these strands will intersect.
