Port Gellhorn in GTA 6: a forgotten resort and its new life
Port Gellhorn shows another side of Leonida in GTA 6: a coastal town where the tourist season ended long ago, but cheap motels and shopping strips remain. Rockstar calls it the state’s forgotten coast. We have already seen the Starlet Motel, Delights Cabaret, a mobile home neighborhood, a gathering around a bonfire and a bag of blue pills passed through a car window. Together, these details portray a place that carries on after the tourists have left.
Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida, extends well beyond Vice City’s beaches and high-rises. Port Gellhorn has its own past, surroundings and everyday concerns. Here is what Rockstar has actually told us about the place, and which details still have to be pieced together from individual images and community reports.
A resort after the season has ended
In its official description of Port Gellhorn, Rockstar lists the remnants of its former appeal: cheap motels, shuttered amusement parks and empty shopping malls. People once came here on vacation. Those places can no longer draw the crowds back.
Rockstar now describes the local economy through malt liquor, painkillers and gas station energy drinks. The list suggests cheap recreation, dependency and life along the roads.

The official images develop that picture. In one room, two men stand among plants under grow lights: one grips a shovel, while the other carries a baseball bat on his shoulder. In another scene, a woman passes a clear bag of blue pills through a car window. These are specific faces of Port Gellhorn’s new economy, shown in Rockstar’s screenshot collection. The studio does not name the people or identify the substance in the bag.

The bag’s contents are visible, but Rockstar has not identified them precisely.
For Jason and Lucia’s story, the town looks like a plausible setting for small deals and questionable ways of making money. Rockstar’s published description does not say whether players can run a growing operation or local trade.
Mobile homes, dirt roads and a backyard bonfire
A newer panoramic screenshot gives us a clearer look at Port Gellhorn’s residential area. The official image shows residential trailers, also called mobile homes, with extensions and small porches. Dirt roads run between them, and wires stretch over the lots. Residents, cars, tables and an ATV are visible near the homes; storage tanks and a water tower rise beyond the neighborhood.
The image appeared in a set of new screenshots released on August 31, 2026. It shows homes sitting next to industrial infrastructure.

Another side of Port Gellhorn appears on an official Rockstar postcard: its panorama includes a railway with a train, a water tower and cargo cranes by the water. Alongside the motels and mobile homes, these details give the place a port and transport setting. The postcard does not establish the train’s route, the docks’ exact position or what players can do there.
Port Gellhorn also has a warmer, more domestic side. In another official image, people gather around a bonfire. Someone sits in a folding chair, a cooler and drinks stand nearby, and food cooks on a grill. In the foreground, a man leans against a car and flirts with a woman. The residents are spending an evening together, a quiet scene that complements the town’s criminal imagery.

Starlet Motel and Delights: two recognizable addresses
The Starlet Motel is identifiable by its tall lightbulb-lined sign and red Vacancy lettering. Below, it advertises big beds, low rates, a pool and Wi-Fi. A pool and lounge chairs are indeed visible beyond the fence, while a pickup and several people stand near the low building. The motel still bears the marks of a resort, though road barriers and neglected grounds are visible around it.

The Starlet sign still advertises vacancies and a pool.
The motel is also connected to the protagonists. In the second GTA VI trailer, at about 1:54, Jason fights beneath a readable Starlet sign while a car burns behind him. This makes the motel a setting for an event, rather than just a picturesque roadside building. Rockstar’s regional profile does not describe whether it can be bought as a home, what rooms cost or its full set of in-game functions.
Another conspicuous sign belongs to Delights Cabaret. In a nighttime screenshot, several vehicles are parked outside, including a pickup with enormous wheels. Pink light reflects off wet asphalt. The sign promises new girls, new food and all-night opening, and invites dancers to apply. Farther from the entrance, two people walk with a shopping cart. The club is part of an ordinary city street, rough edges included.

Both establishments appear in Rockstar’s official gallery. Their advertising claims are visible, but the images do not explain admission rules or gameplay functions. In its official description of Boobie Ike, Rockstar connects a different club, Jack of Hearts, to his Vice City business.
What lies behind the storefront signs
One landmark identified by the community from trailers is Port Gellhorn Pawn & Gun, a pawnshop with a gun sign. A GTA Wiki entry republished by GTA Hub says it appears in the first trailer. The name helps identify the townscape, although we have not seen a full demonstration of transactions inside.
Crossroad Park Minimall resembles a typical American roadside shopping strip: small stores sharing an entrance and signs. In a breakdown of the complex, community contributors identify Uncle Jack’s Liquor, a Whiz branch and the Happy Nails salon. They associate the complex with a second-trailer shot at around 2:28.
August reports about a leak offered a more detailed account of shopping interiors. A WikiGTAVI retelling describes a games and electronics store called Game Hoorde, also spelled Game Horde. The writer describes Jason among shelves of fictional games, an advertisement for the JoySystem console and a selection of headphones at the counter. Nearby, viewers identified a shoe store called We Have Shoes, with the final letter of Shoes missing from its sign.
The WikiGTAVI Port Gellhorn profile links the stores to the town through an on-screen Port Gellhorn notification that the site says appears when leaving them. We cite this as a retelling: the original clip was not viewed during research for this article. It is an account of alleged game footage, not a separate Rockstar announcement. The account cannot establish whether the neighboring salon, shoe store and pet shop are visitable.
Protagonists, dirt bikes and local radio
Jason’s fight near the Starlet ties Port Gellhorn to the protagonists’ story. We still have no complete list of local characters, story missions or heist sequence. Rockstar places the regional section near profiles of Real Dimez and Raul Bautista on its site, but that page layout does not establish where they live or work.
The most direct hint about local activities comes from Rockstar’s description, which invites visitors to hop on a dirt bike and watch their wallets. That fits the dirt roads and informal life shown in the neighborhoods. The description gives no separate list of local tracks, competitions or rewards.
Racing received more attention in Rockstar’s official An Extended Look video from August 27, 2026. At about 17:45, it shows an actual race on a circuit, with a lap counter, time and position among 16 competitors. However, The Drive’s writer explicitly calls the link between that scene and Gellhorn International Raceway a guess. The race is shown, but the track’s exact name and location are not established by the clip.
In its October 8 radio announcement, Rockstar says that country station Back Country Radio, featuring MW and Delta Dawne, broadcasts across the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and beyond. That musical detail connects the town to rural and working Leonida.
Where is Port Gellhorn, and how big is it?
Rockstar lists Port Gellhorn among six showcased places in Leonida. Its official regional page, however, provides no street plan, boundary or area figure. Calling it the ‘second-largest city in GTA 6’ therefore has no confirmed numerical basis yet.
On community maps, the town is usually placed on the state’s west coast and associated with Kelly County. That reconstruction draws on road signs, identified buildings, the coastline and leaked material. The GTA6.how profile specifically labels the county attribution as community information, while Rockstar’s official description identifies only the place itself.
6 Insider estimates a distance of roughly 200 miles from Vice City and labels the figure as its own estimate. The checked material provides no confirmed route or travel time.
Panama City or a composite Florida town?
Port Gellhorn is most often compared with Panama City and nearby smaller Florida towns. The idea has tangible points of comparison: community researchers, for example, compare Crossroad Park Minimall with the former Callaway Village Square shopping complex in Callaway, and the Pawn & Gun building with one in Panama City. The Crossroad Park and pawnshop entries present these as identifications of real places.
There is also a clue in the wording. Forgotten Coast really is used for part of Florida’s coastline, as the Visit Florida tourism site explains. The phrase helps explain the image Rockstar chose, but it does not make the game town an exact copy of a single real settlement.
An original Reddit discussion about possible models debates Panama City, Tampa, West Palm Beach and a blend of multiple places. Some participants compare specific buildings; others point to the port, railway and mismatches in real-world geography. It is safer to speak of recognizable Florida features and possible models for individual landmarks. The checked material contains no Rockstar statement reducing all of Port Gellhorn to one real city.
What is still unknown?
We can already picture Port Gellhorn through specific places and people: vacancies at the Starlet, Delights’ neon, mobile homes beside industrial structures, an evening bonfire and a bag passed through a car window. Together, they form a detailed portrait of a town, even while the broader map is still being assembled.
Practical questions remain open: exact boundaries, roads and distances, accessible interiors, motel accommodation rules, local missions and activities. Large community maps help track discoveries, but their lists of airfields, stations, lots and sports grounds require a source check for each marker. A detailed route through town should rest on a shown in-game journey, not just a similar building on a map of Florida.
