Boats and watercraft in GTA 6: models and trips on the water
GTA 6 speedboats, airboats, jet skis and kayaks: readable names, fishing, Ultimate Edition bonuses and Brian’s marina. What Rockstar has shown and what remains unknown.

GTA 6 has shown speedboats, airboats, jet skis and kayaks, with a larger fleet of yachts, working vessels and passenger boats around them. Jason and Lucia fish from a boat while Cal lifts a caught fish in a scene from An Extended Look. The airboat, jet ski and kayak also appear in sequences with an in-game camera and minimap. Rockstar has named two Ultimate Edition watercraft bonuses, the Crest and Shitzu Squalo. The full watercraft roster and the rules for buying ordinary boats have yet to be revealed.
The most interesting question is not how many vessels appear on a fan-made list. Sometimes a name can be read on the hull; in other cases, people identify a boat by its resemblance to one from an earlier GTA or to a real vessel. Seeing a ship in a port does not mean players will be able to take its helm.
Which names can already be checked?
Watercraft names have several different kinds of evidence behind them. Rockstar directly names the Crest and Shitzu Squalo in its Ultimate Edition description. For other vessels, inscriptions in the footage help. They support a specific name, but do not establish what that vessel can do in the game.
| Name | Basis for the name | What not to confuse it with |
|---|---|---|
| Crest | Official bonus description and lettering on the kayak | A name, not a generic term for every paddle craft |
| Shitzu Squalo | Official Ultimate Edition section | The bonus boat has a particular color scheme and mooring location |
| Lürepredator L35P | Lettering on the hull and seats of a fishing boat in the official An Extended Look presentation | Another boat of the same make is not necessarily an L35P |
| Airgator Airboat 09 | Plaque on a seat back in a Grassrivers screenshot | The number 09 does not prove that nine airboat models exist |
| Seashark | Lettering on the side of a green jet ski in the second trailer | It is too early to assign this model to every jet ski shown |
| BTN DELMAR | Lettering on a container ship in the first trailer | A large ship’s name, not a confirmed purchasable model |

Catalogues also include familiar names such as Dinghy, Marquis, Speeder, Tropic and Toro, as well as Clarion and the names of real vessels. Such lists can help identify a similar hull, but entries rest on different evidence. Some come from readable lettering; others are fan identifications. For example, the GTA Playbook authors explicitly explain that Seashark is visible, while they could not confirm the manufacturer Speedophile from that shot.
A real-world inspiration does not automatically become an in-game name, either. An entry such as “a yacht resembling an Azimut” describes a visual similarity. It does not establish a licensed Azimut in GTA 6, a known price or specifications matching the real vessel.
Airboats: an open deck for a swamp route
An airboat is easy to distinguish from a conventional motorboat: a large propeller sits in a protective cage at the stern. In An Extended Look, the camera follows one across green water between trees and a wooden observation tower. The operator sits high in front of the engine, a white wake trails behind, and a minimap is visible at the bottom of the screen.

That sequence already shows a trip on the water with an in-game camera. The official gallery adds a look at the construction: the airboat has an open deck for people and gear.
In another screenshot, featuring hunters and an alligator, Airgator Airboat 09 can be read on a seat back. The lettering helps name the vehicle shown. Different airboats may have different layouts and equipment, however, so this one readable designation should not be applied to every swamp craft.
The Grassrivers provide a clear setting for this type of vehicle: flooded areas, vegetation and narrow waterways. The regions of Leonida are covered in more detail separately. The boundary of what has been shown matters here. A trip through swamp water does not prove that an airboat can drive freely across any land or jump obstacles without consequences.
Jet skis: the ride is shown, but the full model range is not
In An Extended Look, Lucia rides a red-and-black jet ski through an urban waterway. Two other riders are ahead of her, docks and houses line the sides, and a pale wake spreads from each hull. That is more concrete evidence than a jet ski simply sitting on a road trailer.

The second trailer offers another useful angle: a green Seashark rises out of the water, with Jason driving and Lucia sitting behind him. The name runs along the side. The scene shows two people riding together, but does not establish the passenger capacity of every jet ski in the game.
We cannot confidently call Lucia’s red-and-black craft a Seashark just because it belongs to the same category. A different color alone does not prove it is another model, but being the same type of vehicle does not prove it has the same name. Its exact model name remains unidentified.
The Crest kayak: paddling on both a river and a city canal
The kayak is more than a prop outside a house. In An Extended Look, Lucia sits in a green Crest and paddles along a canal with a double-bladed paddle. Another person is ahead in a separate yellow kayak. Nearby on the water are a covered passenger vessel, a motor yacht and boats at their moorings, with city infrastructure crossing above the canal.
What makes the scene interesting is the mix of different watercraft. A small paddle craft appears in an urban canal beside larger vessels. Two seconds of footage, however, cannot reveal the full route available or show that every waterway is passable for every kind of vessel.

The official gallery also shows a Crest on a river in Mount Kalaga National Park. The kayak therefore appears in both an urban and a natural setting.
Practical questions remain: can players carry a kayak, attach it to a car, launch it wherever they choose or capsize it? The paddling shown does not answer them. Separate controls and the physics of using the paddle have not been detailed, either.
Fishing boats and speedboats
The Lürepredator L35P is the easiest fishing boat to identify in An Extended Look. Jason and Lucia stand on board with fishing rods while Cal Hampton lifts a caught fish. The vessel has a center console and two Dinka outboard motors marked 150.

The camera moves inside in the next scene: L35P appears again on the seat backs, fishing stickers are visible on the console, and the three talk aboard the boat. These angles let us match its exterior to its interior layout. But three people appearing in the scene do not establish the boat’s maximum capacity, and the number on an engine is not a measurement of its speed.

Several open fishing hulls can be distinguished in the official Leonida Keys gallery. Lürepredator is a make; the name alone does not make each of those boats an L35P.
Speedboats appear too: in the first trailer, several pass a container terminal and throw up spray. Their low, elongated hulls look noticeably different from the L35P’s open fishing deck. This confirms a variety of designs, but does not provide a ranking of the fastest boats.
There is a separate guide to the known fishing rules and locations. In the scene shown, the characters travel and fish together aboard the boat. It does not prove that a line can be cast from every kayak, any yacht or any point along the shore.
Yachts, water taxis and large ships
Large yachts appear in the official gallery. The newer kayak scene includes a motor yacht too. To the left, an open passenger vessel with a roof and yellow railings passes by; fan catalogues call it a water taxi.
This is an important distinction from a list of personal boats: everything seen on the water has not necessarily been shown as player transport. A passenger vessel’s presence does not tell us whether players can pay for a ride, choose a stop or take the captain’s place.
The distinction is even clearer with large ships. BTN DELMAR is readable on a green hull near container cranes in the first trailer. The ship exists in the depicted scene, but the camera does not show a player steering or boarding it.
GTA6Map separately lists cruise and fishing ships, a ferry, barges, diving vessels and yacht variants. These are useful leads for a future comprehensive list, but for now they are fan-catalogue entries backed by varying amounts of evidence. They cannot be turned into a promise that players will have access to a commercial fleet.
There is a more appealing idea about yachts: using one as a floating safehouse. Reddit participants connect this speculation to boat size and possible interiors, and suggest sleeping or resting on board. The counterpoint is simple: a spacious deck and a visible cabin do not demonstrate a property purchase, a save system or a rest mechanic. Participants in the thread themselves acknowledge that the trailers do not settle the question.
How might you get a boat, and what do the edition bonuses include?
The most specific terms so far are in the Ultimate Edition description. Rockstar identifies two watercraft bonuses:
- A Crest at Jason’s safehouse. The kayak appears in the list of vehicles at his safehouse alongside a Dinka Enduro motorcycle.
- A Shitzu Squalo at Washington Beach. The bonus boat has a pink-and-blue gradient paint scheme, a stated mooring location and a gun locker with explosive contents. The description also mentions fishing in Gambit Bay.
These terms concern an additional edition package. They do not imply that the standard edition has no watercraft or that fishing is available only on the bonus Squalo. The characters fish on an L35P in another scene.
Boat infrastructure is tied to the characters’ story as well. In Brian Heder’s official profile, Rockstar describes his marina in the Leonida Keys. Brian continues to move contraband through it with his wife Lori. He also lets Jason live rent-free in one of his properties, provided Jason helps with local shakedowns. This establishes a business and a connection to Jason’s life, although it does not promise that players can own the marina.

The launch trailer dated October 15, 2026, adds details: Brian’s Marina is readable on the building, with multilevel boat racks and a Rent a Rack sign in front. In the following scene, Jason uses a polishing machine beside a hull. These scenes show boats stored on land and someone maintaining one. They do not establish a rental menu, a storage fee or a separate maintenance minigame.

There is still no verified price list for ordinary boats or a full account of buying, stealing or renting them. A dock in a shot shows a place by the water, not a berth that automatically belongs to the player. The rules for garages and personal vehicles cannot simply be applied to boats: berth capacity, registration, recovery and delivery each need separate confirmation.
A boat trailer on the road answers only whether such an object exists in the world shown. To promise transportation, we would need to see the actions themselves: hitching it up, loading a boat, driving and launching it. No complete, verified sequence has been shown. Carrying a kayak on a car roof has not appeared in the scenes checked here, either.
What is known about water, damage and pursuits?
Jet skis and the airboat leave wakes, the kayak paddle meets the water, and speedboats throw up spray. Those details give us a basis for discussing visible water response. They are too little to compare handling with a real vessel or promise particular behavior in large waves.
The material shown includes no comparable boat test: the same route, timed runs, collisions under the same conditions and an inspection of damage afterward. Speed figures from earlier GTA games, real specifications of a possible inspiration and numbers printed on an engine are therefore no substitute for GTA 6 measurements. Physics and destruction are covered separately.
Police boats are present in the world. For instance, an official screenshot of Jason near an aircraft shows a boat in the background with people, lights and the word POLICE. But that scene does not reveal how a water interception works, whether officers board vessels or how to escape a pursuit. The wanted system and policing deserve their own treatment apart from the vessel catalogue.
Underwater swimming does not establish a controllable submarine, either. That would require its own footage or an explicit description. The presence of diving alone cannot carry the Kraken or other GTA V vehicles into GTA 6.
Why is there no final boat count yet?
One catalogue counts separately readable models, while another adds unnamed hulls, suspected real-world inspirations, working ships and police variants. GTA Playbook and GTA6Map therefore arrive at noticeably different totals. That reflects different counting methods, not two official Rockstar statements about the fleet’s size.
There is already a useful picture without a disputed total: powered trips, a swamp airboat, jet skis, Crest paddling and fishing together have all been shown. There is also a marina connected to Brian and Jason. A practical guide still needs specific information on acquiring and storing a vessel, its capabilities, prices and rules of use. Until those details are revealed, a list of confirmed scenes is more useful than a promise that every ship can take players anywhere.
