New GTA 6 leak: my first look at racing, Jason and car tuning

My first impressions of new GTA 6 footage: mud racing, Jason and Lucia, pedestrian reactions and Euroform Automotive tuning.

I watched the new footage Cyberleek released as GTA 6: An Extended Leek. The mud racing and the look of the vehicle tuning grabbed me most. There are strange moments too: pedestrians’ reactions to a naked Jason, some rather empty roads and a hairstyle I now find hard to unsee. These are my first impressions, without trying to turn every frame into a promise about the finished game.

Mud, huge wheels and the start of a race

The opening returns to the muddy off-road gathering familiar from the trailer. This is where I want to pause the video: the mud really does look great. Characters roll around in it, cars throw up spray, and vehicles with enormous wheels are everywhere. It is more than a backdrop for a pretty shot. Later, we see Jason and Lucia racing through the same terrain.

There are lots of vehicles in the footage, enough to warrant a separate breakdown. I want to compile a list of identifiable models later; for now, I am watching the scene and the feel of the movement. When Jason approaches one car, it pulls out rather awkwardly. The material does not look completely polished. Still, I like the car’s movement: it feels lively and weighty, rather than sliding across the surface.

At around 1:15, Jason approaches a place where he can interact with people and objects. A little later, roughly 1:36, an interaction menu appears: he can talk to someone or act rudely. In that respect, we do not seem too far from familiar GTA territory. Around 1:48, clothing selection is shown. Jason changes, Lucia approaches, and the game switches to her quite smoothly. Even these brief scenes make me interested in the pair’s dynamic. Lucia seems more active, Jason more passive beside her.

A man then drives up to them in an old tow truck. The scene gives me the impression that the characters know him, but I will not claim who he is or what role he plays from this excerpt. Jason’s appearance also threw me: he looks enormous beside Lucia, and the black bob is so absurd that he sometimes reminds me of Jesus. The hairstyles clearly deserve their own look.

Bikers, fourteen thousand dollars and bike rentals

A biker called Billy appears next. He introduces the protagonists to his group, and the whole scene feels alive: motorcycles, people, clothes, tattoos. One of the guys says the only thing he fears is rehab. I kept looking at the tattoos. It would be great if the game let us choose not just a design but its exact position on the body, as UFC 5 does. For now, that is something I want, rather than a shown GTA 6 feature.

The protagonists are offered rental bikes. The displayed balance is fourteen thousand dollars, with a rental costing roughly 250. Those figures do not tell us how hard money will be to earn: I do not even know which stage of the game this scene belongs to. I do like the font used for the balance, though. A simple classic, without unnecessary decoration.

Lucia responds quite sharply to Jason’s suggestion that they rent a couple of bikes and tear through the mud. Her manner is already starting to annoy me. Is their relationship strained at this point, or does she always talk like that? One episode cannot answer it. Rockstar has already explained that the protagonists’ romance can develop or they can remain accomplices. I suspect my first playthrough will not be built specifically around romancing Lucia.

Around 5:20, the motorcycle’s stats appear. The race then starts with both bikes and mud-racing cars on the grid. Competitors bump each other, a rider falls off a bike, and vehicles leap high into the air. Jason drifts and even performs a backflip. Mud and dust fly everywhere, and he is dirty before completing the first lap. That feels logical: you cannot race through mud the whole time and come out clean.

I also noticed two nearby motorcycles behaving differently on the same stretch of road. A detail like that makes movement feel alive. The race itself is a little too arcade-like for my taste in places, though: some jumps make the bikes look as if they are flying as high as a five-storey building. Spectacular, but not particularly realistic to me.

Naked Jason, pedestrians and a tank from the sky

The next segment changes the mood sharply after the races. Jason rides a motorcycle completely naked, then gets off and walks through a park. North Leonida County appears as the area’s name. There is a waterfall nearby, his hair moves in the wind, and a bird flies past. It is beautiful. Against that backdrop, pedestrians simply pass the naked man as if nothing unusual is happening.

At roughly 10:35, I did not see a noticeable reaction specifically to the nudity. Jason draws a pistol, and the game warns: “Carrying a weapon in public may alarm or provoke people”. Only then do people begin paying attention. This does not mean the whole game will always ignore his appearance. But the difference is striking in this particular episode.

A tank then appears from somewhere above. It looks as though the person recording the material spawned it through some tool or script, but I cannot tell for certain from the video. The tank falls impressively, Jason tries to climb inside, and the segment ends. The menu in this section looks rather unfinished, too.

Euroform Automotive: tuning I want to examine more closely

Around 11:10, an advertisement for Euroform Automotive begins. At first I thought it was selling cars, but the focus then becomes clearly customisation. It shows a car with a differently coloured bumper, shots fired at a car and an altered interior. Where this advertisement will appear in the game remains unclear. A separate cutscene follows: a still-naked Jason asks a guy whether Yago is there, and Yago comes out. In this segment, at least, his nudity once again surprises nobody.

Later, the protagonists discuss preparing a car for a race, including its transmission. One participant says he quit drugs and spent time in rehab. From roughly 14:35, the tuning itself is shown: vehicle stats, its rating, and the Pro Builds, Cosmetics and Performance sections. In the supplied screenshot, Full Kits is open within Pro Builds. The label Apply to Pro Build also appears, but I do not yet understand exactly what choosing it does. Nitro flashes past in other shots. One excerpt cannot establish the full scope of vehicle setup either.

I like that the car does not look entirely static during customisation. The camera can be moved, and the running vehicle visibly shakes, particularly under the bonnet. There is an interior view too, which makes this feel like more than a set of parts in a menu. The evening drive through the city reveals another side, though: streets look rather empty, with almost no traffic jams.

When the protagonists reach the start of another race, beautiful customised cars, including sports cars, surround them. The people nearby dress to match. That scene brings back a simple reaction: damn, this looks good. The name Wyman’s World Auto Salvage Co. on the tow truck in an earlier shot also stayed with me. It suggests something about the game’s automotive scene, although two images do not establish a connection between that company and Euroform.

Questions I will leave open for now

Rehab comes up twice during the viewing, in different scenes and conversations with different people. First, one of Billy’s acquaintances jokes that it is the only thing he fears. Later, before the car race, another man says he quit drugs and was in rehab himself. Perhaps the theme will matter beyond a couple of lines. I would not infer a game mechanic from them yet, but it is certainly interesting to follow.

The same applies to Jason’s appearance and customisation. Different hairstyles and colours are visible already, but how freely tattoos can be changed has not been shown. I want to return to this separately, just as I do to the race vehicles.

For me, this leak is not about one sensational button or secret mechanic. It shows how many different things might happen close together: mud racing, changing clothes, conversations, tuning and odd chance events in the world. Some look fantastic; others still look rough. That is exactly what makes footage like this interesting: there is enough to form a first impression without pretending we have seen the finished game.
